Two countries, Greece and Spain (Catalonia), decided to join their forces for the Climate Change. Do you want to know which are their cities? Have a look at the map.
We decided to have our tablets, computers and maps in our hands to ask our partners YES/NO questions and guess where they are from. It was really amazing to get closer to their city/ town according to the answers. A very good experience to practice because it gives kids an interactive way to build skills, it develops empathy, it means problem-solving and cultural understanding.
Pupils from Greece and Catalonia started a common research about the Climate Change participating in the International project directed by Koen Timmers "Climate Action Project". They created together a collaborative mind map using "Bubbl.us" web2.0 tool to upload there all the information they found and learned.
After the research, we created a video presentation to demonstrate our learning.
We used ICT tools to show the world which are the causes and effects that produce the global warming or the climate change. "Postermywall", "Canva" have been used in both countries.
Here is an ebook with outstanding posters that demonstrate pupils' clever work!!

Finding  solutions. Greek and Catalan students worked hard trying to tell the world what we can do to avoid Climate Change.

Skype lesson: Greek and Catalan partners presented themselves and talk about the solutions to avoid Global warming.
  • We started collaborating with the EWWR and our action was about the topic given this year: Give it a new life
  • We created handicrafts with reusable materials to give them a new life
  • We exposed them at the school to be visible to our schoolmates
  • We voted for the best ones
  • We suggested several materials to be reused
In the padlet below you can see all the objects created by pupils from Navas and Alexandroupoli.

We also demonstrated our learning giving ideas and opinions about what we can reuse, why and how we can do it.

  • We voted them in a contest
  • We were proud of the winner one

Let's Clean Up Europe pretends to be the following Action we did within the programme of the "EWWR". Both countries took part and cleaned different sites but in the same way, the first one on the seaside and the second one on a river shore. We picked up the waste and separated it in: plastic, paper, glass and trash. After that we completed a chart in order to analyze the data and take some conclusions and opinions.
We wrote a Thank you letter to give to our Deputy Mayor to thank him for supporting us with a facilitator, bags and gloves and we visited him to inform about our findings!!

We celebrated Saint George at our schools, but in a very special way.
As in Catalonia this special day is celebrated as a symbol of love and culture, our partners exported this tradition to the rest of Europe. We prepared bookmarks with special messages, sent them by ordinary post, we prepared in both schools a swappable book market...

...and then, we presented to each other our bookmarks where we wrote personal messages of love and friendship as well as environmental ones!!
We wrote together the lyrics of our common song based on the song: "The Nights"! We sung together and danced according to the choreography that our partners from Catalonia sent us

During spring, we worked on 17 Global Goals of Sustainable development in order to take part in the National Action and Contest Bravo Schools, 2018. We even wrote a poem and made some fanzins, because together with you, dear friends from Catalonia, we did our best this year for a lot of these 17 goals.
Together for the best, is our poem's title. We got inspired of our URRRGENT! Europe's knocking at the door! project and we wrote it in Greek to make in this way our work visible and famous to the Greek Bravo schools contest. We dedicated it to your, dear friends!!

The Greek association Bravo schools sent us at the end of June a Certificate of participation declaring that we are now ambassadors of this Global Action and rewarded us with a Praise of Participation!!
Greece: 14th June 2018 We participated in our school's eTwnning projects' celebration day!! We had the chance to make our project well known to our schoolmates, teachers and parents presenting what we had done collaborating with our partners from Spain (Catalonia) and letting them enjoy our project's work on the Climate Change!! Our work got a lot of good comments and lots of applause!!
